5 Ways with Anal Play

Calling all butt enthusiasts! • There’s a whole world of pleasure waiting just… behind you. Whether you’re a butt beginner or expert-level ass-lover – there’s an easy technique for everyone to try.

Just starting out? Try anal massage.

  • Not only is anal massage relaxing, it can also be a great way to experiment with anal play and build arousal. Try:

    • The Door Bell: Press the pad of your thumb on the anus (as if you were ringing a door bell), then introduce stimulation, exploring rhythm, pace and pressure as you stimulate the anus.

    • Round the twist: Massage your index finger around the rim of the anus using a circular motion. You may wish to decrease the size of these circles (imagine a whirlpool).

    • Note: Keep your lube handy to make this feel really good.

Why stop at the butt? Try blended pleasure.

  • Blended pleasure involves stimulating more than one erogenous zone at a time. Stimulating the clit, penis, nipples or anywhere else on the body can make all anal sex feel intense, pleasurable and send you over the edge. Use a toy, fingers or oral next time you’re doing butt stuff.

Feeling comfy? Try rimming.

  • Rimming is the act of gently stimulating the thousands of sensitive nerve endings around the anus and perineum. Using your tongue or lips, slowly and softly lick or kiss the area surrounding the anus, increasing pressure or speed as your partner wishes.

Wanna level up? Try butt plugs.

  • Butt plugs are sex toys with a flared base and cylindrical head, which may or may not vibrate, that stimulate the anus. They’re great for people who love prostate stimulation, the feeling of being ‘full’, or want to easily incorporate anal into all other sexual experiences solo and partnered.

    • Note: If you’re inserting a butt plug, it MUST have a flared base.

Anal aficionado? Try penetration.

  • Go slow. Use lube (and lots of it). As a general rule, the person receiving sets the pace. If at any point there is pain or discomfort, stop and slow down. Start externally or begin with a finger instead of a whole toy/penis.

Safety notes:

  • Always wash your hands/any toys you use before and after anal play.

  • If you plan on moving from anal to other erogenous zones wash hands/toys/genitals thoroughly or just leave anal til the end.

  • Use good-quality, body-safe lube.
